Much like the recent storm hit the northwest the prior day, City blew the visitors away at the their home ground. It was a convincing 3-0 victory for their manager's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their leadership claims as they consolidated their standing at the top of the table.

Back-to-Back Setbacks for United

This outcome signalled consecutive league setbacks for the United manager's side for the initial occasion since May 2024, putting them seven points off the table toppers with their trophy ambitions severely dented.

United’s capability to balance league and European football with a small squad has been a hotly discussed topic since they earned a place in the UCL. Looking at the calendar, it always appeared this was the period that would seriously challenge this capability. Lineup Adjustments
