Britain's shortest-serving prime minister, launched the first edition of her online program with a pledge to reveal "those with ill intent" striving to bring down Britain, the US and Europe. Truss elaborated she would reveal how an "global web of progressives work to undermine the democratic process and the will of the people."

"We will examine the Trump revolution and understand how it can be achieved in Britain," the former PM stated. "We'll be talking to the prominent voices of the Maga movement."

Forging Alliances in the Maga Media Ecosystem

It is a small opening, but in making common cause with John Solomon, the former PM is being pushed into a established right-wing media network producing and amplifying pro-Trump narratives. Its obsessions involve claims of media suppression by the traditional news outlets and a goal to eradicate a conspiratorial 'deep state' – which she attributes her downfall to for the abrupt termination of her calamitous premiership.

"Just the News is not famous beyond the pro-Trump media sphere, but it does have gravitas there, mostly due to John Solomon, who gives commentary on Maga platforms like Steve Bannon's War Room and has even interviewed Trump," noted Professor Alex Hinton, who has extensively researched the Make America Great Again phenomenon.

A Divisive Associate

The former PM's foray to bring Maga media to the UK has drawn her nearer to controversial figures such as the journalist.

He founded his media outlet after criticism when allegations surfaced of pushing false stories about Joe Biden's anticorruption effort in the Eastern European nation, as well as disputed reports about the former US ambassador to that country.

His claims were amplified across the pro-Trump media, with the journalist appearing as a regular guest on the prominent Fox News program. Trump himself promoted the journalist's work.

He wrote the allegations regarding Ukraine in a series of columns for the political newspaper The Hill, after having been re-designated as an opinion writer after colleagues complained regarding his reporting. His claims were key in Trump's demand for the officials in Kyiv to look into the Bidens in 2019. Those demands culminated in articles of impeachment targeting Donald Trump. Senators later acquitted the then-president.

Shortly after the journalist departed the newspaper in autumn 2019, the news organization stated it was performing a examination of his columns relating to Ukrainian matters. It determined Solomon had used unreliable sources and noted he "omitted crucial information about key Ukrainian sources, specifically the fact that they had been charged or were being probed."

Entering the Ecosystem

Solomon's own broadcast spots are a sign of the conservative ecosystem Liz Truss is entering. His personal programs have frequently included personalities such as commentator Mike Benz, a conservative commentator whose criticism of the foreign aid agency was used by Elon Musk as grounds for shutting down the government body.

A Cross-Border Foray

While her awkward delivery and professional woes have invited ridicule within the UK, some US observers are taking seriously her attempts to reinvent herself as a British branch of the Make America Great Again press.

"It is necessary to treat folks like that with seriousness, despite the fact that you may not want to take them literally," said Rob Flaherty, who served in the Obama White House.

"Observers witnessed how in 2024 Donald Trump utilized that alternative press to get his message out. Undoubtedly that network exports and influences conversation internationally. It seems quite apparent to me that the environment in the Britain are comparable to what permitted this parallel press sphere to thrive in America."

Professor Alan Finlayson, said the internet-based conservative network was already making its presence felt in the UK.

Professor Hinton said the rise of the internet-based right wing in the United Kingdom lately meant the "possibility to have a larger effect is substantial."
