The US claim the armed forces mission to capture Venezuela's president involved many weeks of planning, however when Donald Trump issued the command to commence, the mission dubbed "Absolute Resolve" was completed in approximately 150 minutes.

At sunrise that morning, the magnitude of the military operation in Caracas, Venezuela's capital, became apparent.
Images from Fuerte Tiuna, a massive military complex where key officials live, reveal blasted structures and charred, smoking vehicles.
It was at this compound that Maduro and his wife were captured, a senior political figure Nahum FernĂĄndez stated.
Just Moments Before - The President Gives the Command
The mission began amid reports of blasts at about 2 AM in Caracas (06:00 GMT).
American forces cut power to the city, the President has since said, calling it pitch black and dangerous.
The aim was to disable Venezuela's air defense systems and clear the way for American assault helicopters to reach Fuerte Tiuna.

Targeted sites encompassed the compound, a maritime facility and an airport. Images depict Fuerte Tiuna engulfed in flames, with huge flames visible for miles.
Venezuelans have described the way US military helicopters flew at low altitude over Caracas, en route to Fuerte Tiuna.
Some of the helicopters came under fire, however managed to continue flying, military leaders said.
"It was significant gunfire," Trump added.
A Lightning-Fast Ground Assault
Once on the ground, troops from an elite special operations unit, sprang into action.
They entered to the compound just after 2 AM Caracas time, and the presidential couple surrendered without resistance, according to accounts.
However, more details were provided. The Maduros tried to escape into a secure location, described as a heavily fortified bunker.
The secure room was constructed of steel, and he wasn't able to get inside as our personnel were so fast.
"It was a very thick door, a massive door," the President informed the media. He reached the entrance. He was unable to shut it."
But even if they had succeeded to get into the safe room, forces could have breached it in about "47 seconds".
From Caracas to New York City
Now in US custody, the couple were transported approximately 2,100 miles, to Manhattan.
They were taken by air from the capital by helicopter, and taken to a US warship, a naval vessel positioned in the Caribbean. The operation was back in international waters before 4:30 AM.
It was on the ship where one of the defining pictures from the entire mission emerged - the president shackled, wearing ear protectors and a type of blindfold that looked like opaque glasses.
After leaving the ship, his initial stop was at the American naval installation in Cuba.
The Maduros were then flown via official aircraft to Stewart Air National Guard Base in New York state, and then via helicopter to Manhattan.
Facing Justice on American Soil
That same day, a video emerged showing Maduro inside the Drug Enforcement Agency's (DEA) headquarters in New York.
The couple are now detained at a federal holding facility in the city.
They face charges including planning narco-terrorism and import cocaine, possession of automatic weapons and destructive devices, and plots to acquire such weapons and bombs to use against America.
They are set to encounter the complete force of American justice on American soil within US courtrooms," a senior legal official proclaimed.
